Ms. Trutanich is a seasoned trial attorney and Managing Partner at Gilligan, Frisco, Trutanich & Sarris, LLP. She brings over two decades of litigation experience to her broad family law practice, which encompasses managing and litigating dissolution matters, high-conflict custody and visitation disputes, domestic violence restraining orders, child and spousal support litigation, property division, and contested evidentiary hearings. Ms. Trutanich is known for her strategic approach, strong courtroom presence, and ability to navigate the personal and legal complexities that define modern family law.
Before joining the firm, Ms. Trutanich served as a Deputy District Attorney with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, where she completed more than 75 jury trials involving domestic violence, child abuse, sexual assault, gang violence, and murder. She worked in the Victim Impact Program (VIP), prosecuting crimes against children, sexual assault cases, and domestic violence homicides, and later in the Hardcore Gang Division (HGD), where she vertically prosecuted gang-related murders and attempted murders.
Her extensive background in prosecuting sensitive and high-stakes cases gives Ms. Trutanich unique insight into issues involving domestic violence, coercive control, credibility assessments, and child safety, experience she draws upon daily in her family law practice. She also serves the Los Angeles Superior Court as a volunteer Daily Settlement Officer, assisting litigants resolve contested matters and facilitating settlements.
